About our board
HOUSE, Inc. is led by a board of directors composed of individuals with professional backgrounds in medicine, real estate, education, and small business. Board members serve without compensation.
The board is responsible for:
- Reviewing and deciding on every assistance application
- Setting program policy, eligibility, and assistance limits
- Approving the annual budget and financial statements
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state nonprofit requirements
- Stewarding donor relationships and organizational fundraising
Current board roster

We are intentional about publishing accurate, current information. Because board composition can change between updates, the public-facing roster is provided directly by the organization rather than maintained as a static page.
Governance practices
- Board members serve staggered terms
- The board meets at least three times per year, with additional meetings as needed for application review
- Board members are expected to participate in fundraising and outreach
- Conflict-of-interest disclosures are reviewed annually
- All assistance applications over defined thresholds require a documented board vote
Joining the board
HOUSE, Inc. periodically recruits new board members. We look for individuals who:
- Are aligned with our mission of preventing homelessness
- Bring professional expertise that strengthens the board (e.g., nonprofit finance, real estate, law, social work, fundraising, marketing)
- Have the time to commit to quarterly meetings, application review, and at least one fundraising or outreach activity per year
- Are willing to make a personal financial contribution at a level meaningful to them
