How donations are used
HOUSE, Inc. is a small organization with a volunteer board. The largest practical share of every donation is directed to families in the form of direct rental assistance paid to landlords and housing providers.
Because the organization is small and largely volunteer-staffed, administrative overhead is minimal. Donations are not used to pay board members, contractors, or staff salaries except as required for legitimate operational expenses (e.g., accounting, tax preparation, filing fees, banking costs).
Designated gifts are applied to the purpose you specify. If a designation is fully funded, the remainder is redirected to the area of greatest need unless you specify otherwise.
Form 990 filings
HOUSE, Inc. files an annual information return with the IRS:
- Form 990-N (e-Postcard) — used in years when gross receipts are at or below the IRS threshold for small tax-exempt organizations
Form 990 filings are publicly available through the IRS and through third-party nonprofit databases. We will also provide copies of recent filings on written request.
